Developer Permitted To Add Six More Units On South Vincennes In Grand Boulevard

A local developer building a pair of three-flats on South Vincennes Avenue in Grand Boulevard now has permission to add six more units to the site, known as Flats on Vincennes II. A permit issued on May 14 allows McBrearty Construction Company to erect a four-story building with a basement at 4437 South Vincennes. The permit came through just 13 days after its application start date of May 1, and it includes a reported cost of just over $2.1 million.

Demolition Of Former House Of The Good Shepherd Campus Underway As Cubs Seek Parking Lot Expansion

The three-building campus formerly home to House of the Good Shepherd is in the process of being torn down, as the Chicago Cubs look to expand their “Camry” parking lot on West Grace Street just north of Wrigley Field. House of the Good Shepherd called the site home from 1907 into the 2020s, tearing down the original buildings and erecting new ones in the mid-1970s. The Cubs purchased the property in 2024.

40 Units Permitted To Begin Construction At 1215-1225 West Belmont In Lake View

A construction permit was issued by the City of Chicago on May 12 to allow for a new residential development at 1215-1225 West Belmont Avenue in Lake View. JAB Real Estate is the recipient of the permit, filed under the address of 1221 West Belmont, as both the developer and the builder. It comes through with a $6 million reported cost after waiting just over four months in the data portal.
