First Two Of Three-Flat Trio Permitted On Maryland Avenue In Woodlawn

Permits have been issued to build a three-unit residential buildings at 6550 and 6552 South Maryland Avenue in Woodlawn, with a third permit on the way for 6548 South Maryland. Kasper Development LLC is the recipient of the approvals, with 6550’s permit coming through on June 27, and 6552’s issued on July 8. Each permit comes with a reported construction cost of $400,000, and all three were applied for on April 25 of this year.

Three-Flat Approved Next To Palmisano Park In Bridgeport

The City of Chicago has permitted construction of a three-story plus basement, three-unit residential building at 2856 South Emerald Avenue in Bridgeport. Located one block east of Palmisano Park, the parcel is currently improved by a two-story frame residence that will require a demolition permit. That home’s owner applied for the construction permit on March 13 of this year, and received permission to build on July 8. The permit cites a reported cost of $350,000.

2233 West Roscoe demolition permitted for 2237 Roscoe

New Demolition Permit Clears Corner Parcel For 2237 Roscoe in Roscoe Village

A demolition permit issued by the city on July 10 will clear the second parcel for a new residential building named 2237 Roscoe in Roscoe Village. Located on the southwest corner of Roscoe and Bell Avenue, 2233 West Roscoe Street will meet the same fate as next-door neighbor 2239, which was demolished in 2021. Brophy Excavation is names as the demo contractor, with this permit carrying a reported cost of $19,450.

741 West Melrose Street construction permitted

Three Units Permitted For Construction At 741 West Melrose Street In Lake View

Permission has been granted by the city to allow construction of a four-story with basement, three-unit residential structure at 741 West Melrose Street in the Lake View neighborhood. The new permit came through on June 11th after its application was filed on May 2nd, and it denotes a reported construction cost of $1.729 million. EZMB LLC is named as the developer and general contractor.

Belfield Now Open To Residents At 3924 North Lincoln Avenue In North Center

Belfield, a residential development at 3924 North Lincoln Avenue in North Center, is nearing completion and welcomed its first residents in June. Longford Construction began work on the project in fall 2023, with designs created by Space Architects + Planners. The five-story, wedge-shaped building has 68 rental apartments featuring two-bedroom and three-bedroom floor plans.

Demolition Permit At 1501 North Ashland Signals Start Of 44-Unit Residential Project In West Town

A demolition permit was issued on July 10 for a two-story commercial building at 1501 North Ashland Avenue in West Town. Situated on the northeast corner of Ashland and Le Moyne Street, that’s been the home for decades of Arandas Tire & Rims. And according to a community review update from 1st Ward Alderman Daniel La Spata, it will be again. But first, a new five-story residential building will be erected on the site.

Top of the Second Underway At Sheffield Avenue Demolition Trio Next To Wrigley Field

The tiered seating has been torn from the rooftop at 3633 North Sheffield Avenue in Wrigleyville, as demolition gets underway for the second of three buildings just beyond Wrigley Field’s right field bleachers. 3631 North Sheffield, famous for the TORCO sign that adorned its rooftop, has already been torn down. To its south, 3627 North Sheffield will meet the same fate, though its demolition permit has not yet been issued. 3633 met its fate after a demo permit was issued April 23rd.

Tower Crane Base Planted At 370 North Morgan In Fulton Market

Another new tower crane will soon adorn the Fulton Market sky, as the base has been planted for a rig at 370 North Morgan. A permit to set a foundation for the crane was issued way back in January, calling for a free standing Potain MD509 – M20 unit. The base section and its distinct red color are barely visible above the top of the housing built around it as protection from passing construction equipment. It will rise from the northwest corner of the site, at the intersection of Carpenter and Kinzie Streets.

Two Adjacent Demolitions Issued On Orchard Street In Lincoln Park

Two demolition permits were issued on June 30 for neighboring homes at 2677 and 2679 North Orchard Street in Lincoln Park. Real estate records indicate both were constructed in 1895, and they appear to be singly-family residences. The entity of 2677-79 N Orchard LLC is named as the property owner. Builder Luxury is listed as the demolition contractor in both permits, at a reported cost of $20,000 for both demos, which include the two residential structures and two detached garages on the alley.

914 West Fletcher In Lake View Yields To Demolition Permit And Three New Units

A demolition permit has been issued for a three-story masonry residential building and its detached garage at 914 West Fletcher Street in Lake View. Coming through on July 2, the demo permit names Builder Luxury as the contractor for 914 N Fletcher LLC at a reported cost of $22,000.
