Construction begins for three units at 2323 North Lister Avenue in Bucktown

Almost a year after the City of Chicago issued its new construction permit, work is underway for a three-unit residential building at 2323 North Lister Avenue in Bucktown. No floor count is mentioned on the permit for the new structure, which replaces a two-story single family residence that received a demolition permit on July 1 of this year. Real estate records show that home, built in 1888, sold in January of 2021 for $650,000. All Concrete Contractors handled its teardown.

1950 West Dickens condos progressing towards fall delivery in Bucktown

A condominium building at 1950 West Dickens Avenue continues progress toward delivering new residential units to the Bucktown neighborhood this fall. A construction permit issued by the City of Chicago in September of last year, using the address of 1948 West Dickens, allowed Bak Home Development to get started on the four-story, five-unit project with general contractor Bachula Development on the build.

Permit in hand, 32 residential units are coming to 4907 North Paulina Street

A residential development at 4907 North Paulina Street that came to light in February of this year received its new construction permit from the City of Chicago on August 27. Slated for construction is a four-story, 32-unit building from developer Hayes Properties and Dale Foster Architects. The permit, which was applied for in October of 2023, estimates construction costs at $3 million. Moments Notice Services has been hired to be the general contractor; their MNS banners hang on the construction fencing surrounding the property.

Chicago Tribune Freedom Center demolition

Bally’s Chicago Casino gets four demolition permits for Chicago Tribune Freedom Center

Four demolition permits were issued by the City of Chicago Monday for 651 West Chicago Avenue, or what used to be the Chicago Tribune Freedom Center. This is the second phase of demolitions making space for Bally’s Chicago Casino, after a single-story metal building at 700 West Erie was demolished earlier this month. Brandenburg Industrial Services is the demolition contractor for the casino project.
