The four-story addition to the residential building at 3839 North Clark Street in the Wrigleyville neighborhood of Lake View has already climbed to its top story. That marks significant progress since the last visit to the site, which saw the concrete basement in place. The addition adds six more dwelling units to the five-story apartment development Mangan Builders constructed next door.

A 1901-built residence at 3837 North Clark was permitted for demolition in January and torn down this winter to make space for the addition. Mangan Builders received a renovation permit on October 18th to build four stories with a basement on the site, connected to the original development. Michael Cox & Associates was named in that permit as the architect of record. The reported construction cost is $1.2 million.
