A permit issued by the city on January 12 will allow for the construction of a two-flat residential building at 6409 South Eberhart Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood. Sunshine Gospel Ministries, who applied to build on the vacant lot on September 25 of last year, is the recipient of the permit, which came through with a reported cost of $450,000.
A large vacant lot on South Prairie Avenue in Washington Park will be improved by three-flat construction, courtesy of a permit the city issued on January 7. While there remain several lots empty at the site, the first permit is a step forward. The application date shows as November 12, and it came through 56 days later with a reported cost of $450,000 for the work covered by the permit.
A new permit has been issued at 1642 North Orchard Street to construct two residential units, likely condominiums, in Lincoln Park’s Old Town neighborhood. A developer under the entity of North & Orchard LLC is the recipient of the permit, which they applied for on August 7, 2025. It came through January 12 with a reported cost of $2 million.
A new development we told you about in December coming to a vacant lot on North Burling Street in Lincoln Park will, it turns out, fill more than that empty space. A demolition permit was issued on January 22 to bring down the residence and its detached garage at 1660 North Burling Street. That will allow extra space for the new condos permitted for 1658 North Burling.
A permit for new construction was issued this month by the City of Chicago to erect a residential building on the vacant lot at 2006 South Allport Street in Pilsen. The subject parcel stands on a corner site formed by the alley that connects to the rear of the property, adjacent to Perez Elementary School immediately north.
