A permit to erect three dwelling units will plug a small gap on West Fulton Boulevard in the East Garfield Park neighborhood. ANM Mechanical Services LLC, as both the developer and the general contractor, will erect a three-flat residential building at 3215 West Fulton. They got a permit on April 13 after waiting 68 days. It comes through with a reported cost of $400,000. The vacant parcel, improved only with a rear concrete slab, has been used recently for parking.

A Vernon Hills developer has received their second permit in the past four weeks to construct three-flat residences on South St. Lawrence Avenue in Grand Boulevard. Square Construction landed the first permit, for 4844 South St. Lawrence, on March 18, following that up with an identical permit on April 13 to build at 4842 South St. Lawrence. Both permits show application start dates of January 29, and they each came through with reported costs of $500,000 apiece.

Site Prep Is Underway For 566 West Van Buren In The West Loop

Site prep is underway for construction of the new residential project at 566 West Van Buren Street in the West Loop. Developer Riverside Investment & Development and general contractor Clark Construction scored three big permits in March, including caissons, tower crane, and the full build, and with work expected to begin in the middle of this month, tearing up the asphalt parking lot and potholing caissons now fits perfectly within that schedule.

A local developer lined up two construction permits on April 6 to build three-unit buildings at 1653 and 1655 South Homan Avenue in North Lawndale. Red Carpet Renovations is the recipient of the two permits, and they’ll also perform general contracting duties. Each permit came through with reported costs of $350,000 after 81-day waits in the Chicago Data Portal.

1805 North Campbell Avenue construction permitted

The full permit has been issued to begin and to complete construction of the planned residential development at 1805 North Campbell Avenue in Logan Square. VAM Development is the recipient of the permit as both the developer and general contractor. The application start date is shown as February 23, with the permit coming through 43 days later, on April 7, with a reported cost of $4,667,700.

A renovation/alteration permit with a reported cost of $445 million was issued by the city on April 9 to rebuild the State/Lake elevated platform. Trains have been bypassing the platform since the first week of January, when it was shut down for razing. Demolition work was authorized by a permit the city issued on December 10 of last year, and now, there are very few signs that an L platform ever existed here.

Brickwork is in the spotlight for a new residential project at 1300 West Newport Avenue in the Southport Corridor of the city’s Lake View Community Area. Front, back, and east façades are all covered in masonry now, while unfinished corners on the west facing indicate that portion still needs to be bricked in. And while scaffolding and tarps shroud some of the structure, it appears most of the building’s windows have been installed.

The city has authorized construction to begin for the residential conversion of the Oxxford Clothes building at 1220 West Van Buren Street in the West Loop. In the works for several years, Base 3 and The Missner Group can now get started on Oxxford Lofts, which is expected to deliver 112 rental units at the edge of the Eisenhower Expressway. A renovation permit was issued on April 10, less than two months after its application date. It includes a reported cost of $15.5 million.

The first permit has been issued to begin construction for a residential development at North Milwaukee Avenue and West Prindiville Street in the Logan Square neighborhood. The permit is assigned to the address of 2705 West Prindiville Street, though the development has been known prior as 2240 North Milwaukee. The permit’s application date is January 29 of this year, and it came through on April 7 with a reported cost of $350,000 for the caisson work.
