A demolition permit has been issued for the turn-of-the-century residential building at 3631 North Sheffield Avenue in Wrigleyville. It’s the first of three adjacent buildings to be razed for a new residential development just beyond the right field ivy at Wrigley Field, with 3627 to its south and 3633 North Sheffield to its north surely soon to follow.

Kensington School West Loop Begins Taking Form at 1220 West Adams Street

Construction progress has risen above foundation level for the Kensington School West Loop at 1220 West Adams Street in the West Loop. General contractor Charles Hall Construction got started on the building last fall, after receiving permission to begin on August 26, 2024. Charles Vincent George Architects is the architect of record, as they have been for each Kensington School development in the city.

The three-story building has a basement level, so it’s natural to assume the Additional Dwelling Unit will be built downstairs, but the permit does not specify that. RY National, Inc is named as the general contractor, with the permit indicating a cost of $50,000 for work performed.
