Cinder-block walls outline the new condominium development at 1313 West Wrightwood Avenue in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The project from Drimnagh Development received a construction permit on October 25 of last year. They’re doing the general contractor work themselves, using plans drawn up by 360 Design Studio.
The City of Chicago issued a permit on January 7 to allow for the construction of a three-story, three-unit building at 4920 North Whipple Street in the Albany Park neighborhood. Key Development, an LLC registered in Avondale, is named as the developer, with Hanna Architects listed as the architect of record.
Demolition work is underway on five buildings in the 1200-block of North Ashland Avenue in Wicker Park that will soon see two new residential develops begin construction. A pair of demo permits were issued about two weeks ago to get started on 16 residential units at 1235 North Ashland, followed a week later by permits to tear down three buildings standing in the way of 24 new units at 1257 North Ashland.
Three demolition permits have been issued by the City of Chicago for buildings on North Elk Grove Avenue in the Wicker Park neighborhood. The sites are being cleared by developer Volo Holdings so they can construct a new three-story with basement, six-unit residential property permitted for construction in November.
Chicago has six tower cranes operating around the city, now that general contractor Clark Construction has finished installing theirs at the Thompson Center in The Loop. As you probably know by now, the Thompson Center is undergoing a complete renovation before Google moves into the building. The crane was erected this past weekend on the south side of the building, along Randolph Street. It will remain on site for 10-12 months as it lifts the new exterior panels into place.
