Outer Shell Complete for 1325 West Fulton Sales Center in Fulton Market District

Condominium sales are closer to launching as the sales center for 1325 West Fulton rounds into shape in the Fulton Market District. Sulo Development is building the sales center at the corner of Ada and Fulton Streets to kickstart sales for their three-tower project. A successful sales campaign will allow construction of the first tower to begin on the east end of the site in 2026. The single-story temporary structure will then be demolished and replaced by the second and third towers.

1411 South Keeler Avenue construction permit

Six Units Permitted For Construction At 1141 South Keeler In North Lawndale

A permit has been issued to allow construction of a two-story, six-unit residential building at 1141 South Keeler Avenue in the North Lawndale neighborhood. An application was filed for the homes on October 18 of last year, and permission came through on July 16 with a reported cost of an even $1,000,000.

TimeLine Theatre Announces Halfway Point Of Uptown Construction

TimeLine Theatre announced through a press release on July 28 that their new home at 5035 North Broadway in Uptown is now 50 percent completed. Slated to open in May 2026, the theatre replaces the former W.C. Reebie & Brother storage building that was demolished (additional theatre renderings are available at that link) last year. In production for well over a decade, the theatre was awarded caisson and full permits back in 2022, but plans changed, with the theatre troupe demolishing more of the warehouse than was their original intent.

With Tower Crane In The Air, 370 North Morgan Adds To Its Permit Haul in Fulton Market

370 North Morgan scored another pair of permits this past Friday, July 25, allowing the installation of a construction hoist and permitting tie-ins for the second and third phases of the tower crane. The 494-unit Fulton Market apartment tower broke ground in June with the kickoff of caisson drilling.

A unique Chicago residence will be replaced with the issuance of a new construction permit for 721 North Hamlin Avenue in Humboldt Park. That means a trendy tiny house at that location, depicted in Google Street View images, will have to be demolished or moved.

With permission now granted by the City of Chicago, construction work can begin on a three-story, three-unit frame residential building at 2745 West Monroe Street in East Garfield Park. The entity of BMA Investments LLC 2745 West Monroe applied for a permit on June 11. It came through on July 21st with a reported cost of $500,000.

1509 West School Street construction permit

Permission Granted For Three-Flat Construction At 1509 West School Street In Lake View

A new construction permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to build a masonry three-flat at 1509 West School Street in the Lake View neighborhood. Property owner Coen Development applied for the permit on May 13, and it came through on July 21. It cites a reported cost of $1.2 million, with Coen acting as their own general contractor.

1539 North Wells Street addition permitted

Renovation Permit Issued For Additional Dwelling Units For 1896-Built Old Town Building

A permit issued by the City of Chicago will allow an addition to be built at the rear of a vintage greystone rental building at 1539 North Wells Street in Old Town. An application was filed for the project on April 1 of this year, with permission granted on July 18 that included a reported construction cost of an even $1 million. The developer is named as 1539 N Wells LLC.

626 South Wabash Rises Above The L In The South Loop

The residential tower at 626 South Wabash in the South Loop has progressed to the underside of the second level. The core is at the second story of what will eventually be a 19-story building with 164 dwelling units. That progress is courtesy of general contractor Clark Construction, their concrete contractor Adjustable Concrete, and the tower crane they erected at the site in June.

Another Chicago home built in 1910 will meet a very different fate than the one at 1300 West Newport Avenuefeatured yesterday. At 5339 North Glenwood Avenue in Andersonville, a two-unit residence has been permitted for a deconversion into a single-family residence, but it will make up for the lost unit by building a coach house and Additional Dwelling Unit on the alley.
