2841 North Southport Avenue in Lake View has risen to its second story, and will add two more levels before it reaches its ultimate height. The three-unit development from Bachula Development, who are taking on general contractor duties as well, replaces a multi-unit frame residential building demolished in July.
The City of Chicago has issued a new construction permit for a million-dollar-plus home at 4442 North Greenview Avenue in the Uptown neighborhood. Heritage Luxury Builders of Northfield is the developer of the home. The permit names Amazing City LLC as the general contractor, working on a design by Hanna Architects.
One of Chicago’s most unique preservation projects continues in Lincoln Park, as erection of the steel framework continues at the Second Church Of Christ, Scientist. With the west, south, and east façades still intact, the gutted former church, located at 2700 North Pine Grove Avenue, now holds a steel frame upon which a six-story, 22-unit residential building from Ogden Partners is blooming, thanks to construction work by general contractor MC Construction.
Exterior construction for the Northwestern Medicine Bronzeville Outpatient Center at 4822 South Cottage Grove Avenue, in the Grand Boulevard Community Area continues to progress toward completion. Much of the cladding for the parking structure at the south end of the facility is up, as is most of the glass curtain well around the office and patient care areas at the north end. Significant interior work remains, as healthcare-specific preparations require considerably more time to implement than standard construction.
