West End Woman’s Club at 37 South Ashland Avenue being converted to residences

An office-to-residential conversion is in progress on a historic building on the Near West Side. The former West End Woman’s Club at 37 South Ashland Avenue, built in 1904 and the home of the United Electrical Workers union from 1948 until last year, is being renovated into apartments by ZSD Corp. They received a permit from the City of Chicago on May 15 to renovate the building and add an addition above the existing structure.

Two condominiums are under construction at 327 West Armitage Avenue in Lincoln Park’s Old Town neighborhood. Located virtually across the street from the Lincoln Park Zoo, exterior work on the building looks nearly complete, with brickwork all around and windows installed on all floors. Developed by Halcyon Development Group, the units are expected to deliver in the spring of 2025, according to property information from Porter Goldberg Residential.

The concrete core of the 400 Lake Shore North Tower continues to rise, and all evidence of the cofferdam from the Chicago Spire  dream has disappeared, at Lake Shore Drive and the Ogden Slip in Streeterville. The team of LR Contracting and BOWA Construction, along with concrete contractor Goebel Forming, are making great progress on bringing Related Midwest’s 72-story residential skyscraper to life.

Three condos at 2115 North Damen Avenue aim for fall delivery

Three condominium units at 2115 North Damen Avenue in Bucktown are nearing completion, in anticipation of being open for owners to move in this fall. The four-story building, being built by K/S Homes of Chicago, got a new construction permit from the City of Chicago on March 23, 2022. Two additional permits, one in December 2023 and one in March of this year, were issued to address changes in contractors.
