Three Up, Three To Go: 400 Lake Shore Completes Its Third Tower Crane Jump

The construction teams at 400 Lake Shore jumped the tower crane once again this past weekend, adding six more shiny yellow sections to Chicago’s highest rig. The crane was last extended in May, and will rise in three more stages before it ultimately tops out. A half-dozen sections will be added during the next two climbs, while the sixth and final extension will add five.

New Permit Allows Changes To 1880 North Milwaukee As First Floor Progresses

As construction work at ground level continues on the residential development at 1880 North Milwaukee Avenue in Bucktown, a permit has been issued to change a few details on the original project. On July 18, the city issued permission that the development team had applied for on April 30 to accommodate a larger transformer pad per a ComEd request. Revisions were also addressed for the first-floor garage and bike room, including the reconfiguration of parking spaces due to the larger transformer. The elevator shaft and an overhead door were also revised via the same permit.
