The City of Chicago issued a permit on January 27 that will allow the full construction of a six-story, 71-unit supportive housing development at 5300 South Calumet Avenue in Washington Park. The permit names Abrams Intergenerational Village as the property owner; that will be the name of the project, as chosen by developer The Renaissance Collaborative.
A private developer has received permission to construct a three-story plus basement, three-unit masonry residential building three blocks north of the White Sox’ Rate Field in the Armour Square neighborhood. The permit for 3142 South Wells Street was issued on January 14 following a 118-day wait, and it came through with a reported cost of $800,000.
The first handful of glass curtain wall panels have been installed on the hotel tower for Bally’s Casino in River West. The panels were put in place last week on the east façade of the tower, along the Chicago River.
A 115-year-old greystone currently under renovations at 3726 North Racine Avenue in Lake View now has permission to replace a demolished garage with a two-story, three-car garage with an Additional Dwelling Unit on the second floor. A new construction permit, applied for on August 5 of last year, was issued by the city on January 13, and it includes a reported cost of $150,000.
A permit issued by the city on January 12 will allow for the construction of a two-flat residential building at 6409 South Eberhart Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood. Sunshine Gospel Ministries, who applied to build on the vacant lot on September 25 of last year, is the recipient of the permit, which came through with a reported cost of $450,000.
