Once the former Rainbow Art Co. building is removed from the site, 2234 West Grand is allowed to begin, bringing a four-story, 12-unit residential project to West Town. Panoptic Group is both the developer and the general contractor for the project.
Construction progress has risen to the third-floor exterior on the residential development at 691 North Milwaukee Avenue in the River West neighborhood. Framing work is visible for the second-level dwelling units, as the interior keeps pace with work on the building’s shell. Mo2 Properties is the developer, delivering 34 units in a five-story with basement structure.
A demolition permit has been issued for a two-story industrial building and delivery bay at 2224 West Grand Avenue Chicago’s West Town Community Area. The permit came through on February 27, assigning B & K Concrete 1 of Blue Island as the deno contractor, at an estimated cost of $65,000. The building was the home of the Rainbow Art, Inc., and sold in fall of last year. But details about the selling price, as well as when Rainbow Art vacated the building, have proven difficult to find.
Work is underway on a five-story, 56-unit residential development at 1101 West Berwyn Avenue in the Edgewater neighborhood. A new construction permit, issued using the address of 5256 North Winthrop Avenue, came through on December 26, 2024, and developer and general contractor Panoptic Group wasted no time getting started.
A residential development delivering 12 new units across the street from Humboldt Park is underway at 1604 North Francisco Avenue. Located on the northwest corner of North and Francisco Avenues, the five-story elevator building will include nine parking spaces in the first level, with a roof deck, stair enclosures, and elevator overrun atop the fifth floor.
