A permit has been issued by the City of Chicago that will allow the owner of a fire-damaged building in East Side to begin reconstruction. Located at 10121 South Avenue M, the original two-story frame building burned last summer; an emergency demolition permit was issued on August 15 to remove what remained. McDonagh Demolition was contracted to do the teardown.

An application to rebuild was filed on December 23 of last year, and the permit was issued March 14. Details include only that this will be a two-and-a-half-story building with a basement , and it will contain two dwelling units. There was no garage with the original home, and there is no inclusion of a new one with the building permit. SPJ Architecture of Woodridge designed the new plans, and CCA Restoration Inc. of Alsip will be the general contractor.
