Major changes are underway for an entire city block at the heart of Fulton Market. Bound by West Fulton Street to the south, North Sangamon Street to the west, and North Peoria Street to the east, three different projects are underway at various stages of planning, with the last remaining piece now going up for sale by its current owner.
Now that they’ve topped out Vista Property Group’s 32-story residential development, Skender and McHugh Concrete have lowered the boom, along with the rest of the tower crane, at 370 North Morgan in the West Loop. Known henceforth as Pearl Fulton Market, Vista and the contracting team celebrated its topping out last month, staying on schedule for a 2027 opening.
The Committee on Zoning has approved plans for the proposed mixed-use high-rise at 215 North Racine Avenue in Fulton Market. Sitting near the corner with West Lake Street, the project has been in the works for around a year, having faced much scrutiny from neighbors due to its proposed high-density zoning. Efforts for the project are being led by local developer Domus.
Initial funding has been secured for an upcoming mixed-use development at 400 North Elizabeth Street in Fulton Market. In the works for a few years, the two-tower project will fill a wedge-shaped lot bounded by West Kinzie Street and North Ogden Avenue. Efforts for the development have been led by Mark Goodman & Associates and Weldon Development Group.
Big progress continues on the residential tower at 370 North Morgan Street in the Fulton Market District as it nears its ultimate 32-story peak. Though hidden by the construction screens, it appears from the street that crews from Skender and McHugh Concrete have poured the 28th, perhaps the 29th, floor.
