Construction Imminent for 43-Story Tower at 906 W Randolph Street in Fulton Market

With demolition wrapped up and site prep underway, construction permits have now been issued for a 43-story mixed-use skyscraper at 906 W Randolph Street, located in West Loop‘s Fulton Market District. Co-developed by Tucker Development and Related Midwest, construction for the new edifice has been listed under the address 164 N Peoria Street. The development will provide both ground-level retail and 300 apartments on the upper floors, of which 20 percent will be affordable under the Affordable Requirements Ordinance. The developers will also contribute nearly $5 million to the neighborhood opportunity fund, which supports various infrastructure and commercial projects in Chicago’s west and south-side neighborhoods.

This week, Skender and Sterling Bay held a groundbreaking ceremony for 345 N Morgan Street, a new 11-story mixed-use building in West Loop‘s Fulton Market district. Sterling Bay is the developer behind the boutique 200,000-square-foot project, which will yield both ground-level retail and offices on the upper floors. Prior to construction, the site has been occupied by an empty lot, which Sterling Bay acquired in 2014.

Facade progress is rapidly taking shape for 932 W Randolph Street, a redevelopment of a former three-story bank in West Loop‘s Fulton Market. The development involves the re-skin of the existing structure, and a new three-level connected addition that will take on the same design. L3 Capital is the developer behind the 35,000-square-foot project, whose programming will be entirely commercial. Recent reports have confirmed that a new showroom for the electric carmaker Rivian will occupy the building. Last year, L3 Capital received approval to convert the existing zoning designation of the property from C1-2 neighborhood commercial district to DX-5 mixed-use district.
