Demolition permits were issued last month clearing the way for a 21-story hotel at 800 W Lake Street, located near the heart of the booming Fulton Market neighborhood. The new structure will rise to 265 feet at its roof, replacing three low-rise masonry buildings and parking lot space. Planned by North Park Ventures, the yet-to-be-named hotel will provide space for 476 rooms, as well as ground-floor commercial space.
Grade level work continues for a six-story condominium building that will be the fourth in a five-building complex known as West Loop Collection. Developed by POGN Development and located just outside of Greektown, the project will provide a total of 40 units. The official addresses lie at 210-240 S Green Street.
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a mixed-use structure at 1340 W Washington Boulevard in West Loop. Located on the site of the Chicago Journeyman Plumber Local 130 UA campus, the structure will actually be located along W Randolph street, within the 4.1-acre larger campus addressed as 1340 W Washington Boulevard. The larger campus is bound by W Randolph Street, W Washington Boulevard, N Ada Street, N Ogden Avenue, and the recently-completed Plumbers Training Facility to the west. The development is being led by the Chicago Journeyman Plumber Local 130 UA and Chicago Title and Trust Company.
Exterior cladding has begun for the western portion of Peoria Green, a six-story condominium project in West Loop. With the dual addresses of 123 S Peoria Street and 128 S Green Street, the project fits into a narrow lot directly west of the 2.7-acre Mary Bartelme Park.
