Chicago Common Construction Continues Progress On Two West Loop Residential Buildings

Two residential developments from Continuum Real Estate Brokers and their general contractor Chicago Common Construction continue to progress one block apart in the West Loop. At the corner of North Desplaines and West Lake Streets, 629 West Lake has moved into the brickwork stage for its exteriors. One block south on the southeast corner of North Desplaines and West Randolph Streets, 135 North Desplaines has reached its second story. Both buildings involve a third member of the team, design architect Axios Architects.

Three Issued Permits Mean 566 West Van Buren May Now Begin Construction

A tower crane permit was issued for the residential building at 566 West Van Buren Street in the West Loop on March 12. Of course, construction can’t begin with just the permission for a crane. But not to worry. Last week, both the foundation/superstructure permit and the full building permit came through the data portal, allowing work to begin on the project from Riverside Investment & Development.

Pending Permits On West Jackson Boulevard Could Mean Another Residential Tower Is Imminent

A trio of permits for the 1000 block of West Jackson Boulevard in the West Loop are a good sign that a construction start could be just around the corner for 1016 West Jackson. A 380-unit apartment tower from Mavrek Development, referenced on their website as 1000 West Jackson, was approved for the site by the Chicago Plan Commission and the City Council back in summer 2024.
