With Caissons, Foundation Complete, 566 West Van Buren Plants Its Tower Crane

Caissons and foundation work are done and the first signs of verticality are rising from the ground for the residential building at 566 West Van Buren in the West Loop. What’s more, Wednesday marked the arrival of the Potain MR418 tower crane base. A concrete crew from Adjustable Concrete Construction was pouring the crane’s pad with help from a few red-and-white-striped Ozinga trucks that came and went while we were watching.

Site Prep Is Underway For 566 West Van Buren In The West Loop

Site prep is underway for construction of the new residential project at 566 West Van Buren Street in the West Loop. Developer Riverside Investment & Development and general contractor Clark Construction scored three big permits in March, including caissons, tower crane, and the full build, and with work expected to begin in the middle of this month, tearing up the asphalt parking lot and potholing caissons now fits perfectly within that schedule.

Three Issued Permits Mean 566 West Van Buren May Now Begin Construction

A tower crane permit was issued for the residential building at 566 West Van Buren Street in the West Loop on March 12. Of course, construction can’t begin with just the permission for a crane. But not to worry. Last week, both the foundation/superstructure permit and the full building permit came through the data portal, allowing work to begin on the project from Riverside Investment & Development.
