New CTA Control Center In Garfield Park Could Bring Large Development To West Loop

The Chicago Transit Authority has revealed new plans for its control center near the intersection of N Pulaski Road and W Lake Street in Garfield Park. Located just north of the CTA Green Line Pulaski station and the upcoming Chicago Police and Fire Academy, the new structure will free up space in their current location at 120 N Racine Avenue in the West Loop. The proposal marks one of the largest city investments in the area in recent years led through a venture with locally-based Farpoint Development.

Fulbrix Apartments Places 14th In Year-End Countdown

Ranking #14 in YIMBY’s year-end construction countdown is 160 N Elizabeth Street, a 27-story mixed-use tower progressing in the final steps of its facade installation. Located in the west end of the Fulton Market District and developed by Moceri + Roszak, the 293-foot-tall building, now named “Fulbrix,” will feature 9,000 square feet of retail space and 375 rental units. In accordance with the ARO planning regulations, 20 percent of these units will be affordably priced and include a variety of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences, many of which will boast private balconies.

Updated Renderings Revealed For Mixed-Use Tower In West Loop

Updated renderings have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 1016 W Jackson Boulevard in West Loop. Set to replace an existing office building just west of the intersection with S Morgan Street, news on the project broke late this October and just now had its first community meeting where the images were shown. Chicago-based Mavrek Development is behind the proposal with architecture firm BKV Group crafting its design, who also worked on the proposed structures at 525 S Wabash Avenue.

166 N Aberdeen Street Ranks 18th in Countdown as Construction Wraps Up in Fulton Market

With the last of the exterior wrapping up, construction is coming to a close for 166 N Aberdeen Street, aka One Six Six. This 21-story mixed-use tower by Greystar marks the 18th tallest construction project in the city, rising 224 feet in height. Now standing its full 224-foot height, the high rise is set to house 224 rental apartments atop ground-level retail.
