Completion Date Announced For Westhaven Park IID In Near West Side

A completion date has been announced for the upcoming mixed-use development at 1959 W Lake Street in the Near West Side. Located on the intersection with N Damen and directly across the street from the new Damen Green Line station, the project will be one of the final phases of the greater Westhaven Park development near the United Center. The team of Brinshore Development and The Michaels Organization is working with local architecture firm Landon Bone Baker (LBBA) on the design.

Groundbreaking Held For United Yards In Back of the Yards

A groundbreaking has been held for the United Yards development along 47th Street in Back of the Yards. With its center located on the intersection with S Ashland Avenue the multi-building proposal won its Invest South/West bid back in 2021, now construction has been split into phases with the first two underway. Developers Celadon Partners and Blackwood Group worked with local architecture firm DesignBridge on the adaptive reuse and new construction proposal.

City Selects Hub 32 As Winner Of East Garfield Park RFQ

Mayor Lori Lightfoot has announced the winner of the recent East Garfield Park Request For Qualifications (RFQ). The multi-site proposal is centered around the intersection of W Lake Street and N Kedzie Avenue, with this first phase replacing a 50-year-old vacant lot located at 132 N Kedzie Avenue. The city selected Hub 32 as the winning proposal led by the Michaels Organization, KMW Communities, and TruDelta Real Estate.

Plan Commission Approves Mixed-Use Development In Near North Side

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 1549 N Fremont Street in the Near North Side. Located just south of the intersection with W North Avenue, the currently vacant lot is surrounded by the multi-story Toyota dealership on its two non-street facing sides. Pitched by the previous developer as an Aloft Hotel, the new team from City Pads Chicago is working with local firm NORR Architects on the low-rise building for the 145- by 184-foot site.
