Initial Details Revealed For Cabrini Green Redevelopment

Initial details have been revealed for the next phase of the Cabrini Green redevelopment at 1450 N Larrabee Street in Old Town. Located towards the western-most edge of the neighborhood, the large wedged-shaped lot is bordered by angled N Clybourn Avenue on the west side. The project is being pushed by the Chicago Housing Authority with a development group made up of Pennrose Properties, Hunt Companies, Imagine Group, and a Cabrini-Green resident group, with JGMA serving as the architect.

Groundbreaking Held For Westhaven Park IID in Near West Side

An official groundbreaking has been held for the mixed-use development at 1959 W Lake Street in the Near West Side. Located on the intersection with N Damen Avenue adjacent to the CTA tracks and upcoming Damen Green Line station, the project dubbed Westhaven Park IID is the final phase of the greater Westhaven Park development near the United Center. Developers Brinshore Development, The Michaels Organization, and the Chicago Housing Authority worked with local firm Landon Bone Baker on its design.

Plan Commission Approves Mixed-Use Development In West Englewood

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 6206 S Racine Avenue in West Englewood. Located on the intersection with W 62nd Street, the proposal is a redevelopment of a vacant school building which housed Woods Elementary that closed in 2013. Now a development team called ‘Go Green’ made up of Gorman & Company LLC, the Inner-City Muslim Action Network, Resident Association of Greater Englewood, Team Englewood, and E.G. Woode is leading the charge with Nia Architects on the design.

Groundbreaking Held For Sarah’s On Lakeside In Uptown

A groundbreaking has been held for the residential development dubbed Sarah’s on Lakeside at 4737 N Sheridan Road in Uptown. Located on the northeast corner with W Lakeside Place not too far from the lakefront, the upcoming structure will replace a vacant lot near other properties operated by the same developer. That being non-profit organization Sarah’s Circle who is working with global architecture firm Perkins + Will on its design.
