Initial funding has been announced for the mixed-use development at 835 W Addison Street in Lakeview East. Sitting near the intersection with N Halsted Street, it is across the street from the local Chicago Police Department station which is currently housing a large number of migrants. The project is being led by the Lakeview Lutheran Church and the Over The Rainbow Association, with architecture firm Weese Langley Weese working on its design.

The Chicago Housing Authority has advanced the first phase of the LeClaire Courts redevelopment at 4458 S Cicero Avenue in Garfield Ridge. Located on the intersection with W 45th Street, the new project replaces the massive vacant lot once home to a public housing project. Developed by The Habitat Company and Cabrera Capital Partners, the SCB-designed complex will sit next to the new Cultivate Collective community hub.

Located north of the intersection with E 99th Street near Chicago State University, the development replaces a one-story commercial building and is to be built in multiple phases. Developers Trinity United Church of Christ worked with Johnson and Lee Architects on the design for the senior affordable housing project.

The Chicago Community Development Commission has approved initial funding for the residential redevelopment at 6121 S Hermitage Avenue in West Englewood. Revitalizing the former Charles Earle Elementary School on the corner with W 61st Street, the multi-phase project will utilize all of the school’s surrounding land. It is being developed by Gorman & Company LLC and Phoenix Recovery Support Systems along with local design firm Beehyyve.

Financing has been initially approved for the United Yards development at 1515 W 47th Street in Back of the Yards. Centered around the intersection with S Ashland Avenue and bringing a mix of new construction and redevelopment, the project is part of the Invest South/West initiative and will be built in phases. Developers Celadon Partners and Blackwood Group worked with local architecture firm DesignBridge on the overall proposal.
