Permits were issued on Wednesday for the construction of a new multi-unit building which will be located at 2653 West Cortez Street in West Town. The permit lists the owner as 2651 W Cortez LLC and plans involve the construction of a three-story building with three units and a basement. The building will reportedly include side entry access stairs, a rear deck on the ground level, and a four-story open rear egress stair. Plans also indicate the presence of a rooftop deck and a detached three-car garage in the rear. A demolition permit was issued for this address and the neighboring property to the same owners in August of this year.

Demolition Permits Issued for 1740 W School Street in Lake View

The permit’s owner has been listed as Craig Silberberg. No permits or future plans have been issued as of yet for any upcoming projects or zoning changes.

The permits for the development were issued to TSE Enterprises LLC and will involve five dwelling units with front and rear balconies on the first and second floors, a basement, a shared rooftop deck, and a detached one-story masonry garage. The site will offer three additional spaces via a carport.

New Permits Issued for 2531 S Albany Avenue in South Lawndale

A new construction permit was issued yesterday for a two-story residential building at 2531 S Albany Avenue in the South Lawndale neighborhood. The permit notes that this will be owner-occupied and lists Ramon Escamilla as the owner. Plans indicate this project will be a frame construction and yield two total units. The building will include open rear decks and an egress stair. An existing masonry garage will remain on site. The project will replace an existing structure. Mark Murphy of M Architecture is listed as the architect of record. No renderings have been made public.

Permits Issued to National Public Housing Museum

The National Public Housing Museum located in the Near West Side neighborhood has been issued renovation permits. The site is located on the corner of W Taylor Street and Ada Street. The permits have been issued under the address 925 S Ada Street. As previously reported, the project is part of the larger Roosevelt Square Plan that seeks to further connect the Taylor Street corridor. The developers are Related Midwest and they continue to work in conjunction with Chicago Housing Authority and local firms HED Architects and Landon Bone Baker Architects.

Demolition Permits Issued for 4323 N Bell Avenue in North Center

This past week, a demolition permit was issued to remove a two-story masonry multi-unit residence along with a detached masonry garage located at 4323 N Bell Avenue in the North Center neighborhood. The permit’s owners have been listed as 4323 Bell LLC. The property has an RS-3 designation and a permit was issued for plans that have been submitted for the construction of a two-story single-family home with a basement, a detached two-vehicle garage, and fencing around the property.
