An upcoming development just outside of Chicago is leading the way towards innovative green development. Named Eco Terra, the planned construction consists of a seven-story, 348-unit mixed-use apartment complex. The project was initially named “Garden Station” and is now under construction. This construction has distinguished itself as the largest project in the country to earn key passive house and net zero certifications.
Permits were issued on Tuesday for a new three-story residential building located at 3029 W Lyndale Street in the Logan Square neighborhood. The project will replace an existing structure. The permit owner is listed as 3029 W Lyndale LLC, and plans indicate that the development will include two total units, each equipped with outdoor space at the rear. There will be a rooftop deck with an enclosed staircase and a detached two-car garage with its own rooftop deck.
A permit was approved yesterday for a new three-story residential building at 3924 S Calumet Avenue in the Grand Boulevard neighborhood. The owner is listed as Eagle OZB I LLC, and plans indicate this project will yield three total units, each with a rear open porch. Additionally, the permits include a detached three-car garage. The development will replace a vacant lot.
“We Will Chicago,” a citywide initiative from Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot‘s office has been launched to encourage and facilitate neighborhood growth by addressing social and economic inequities that hinder Chicago’s image as a so-called global city.
Renderings have been made public for an upcoming commercial structure at 151 N Michigan Avenue in The Loop. The site overlooks Millennium Park with the parcel sitting at the intersection of W Randolph Street and N Michigan Avenue.
