Additional foundational permits were issued last week for the upcoming mixed-use development located at 1101 W Van Buren in the West Loop. Developed by Pizzuti Development and designed by Goettsch Partners, the proposed 21-story tower will house a total of 298 apartment units.
Demolition permits have been issued to remove a masonry building located at 1334 W Rosedale Avenue in Edgewater. MK Construction & Builders Inc is listed as the permit owner. Plans have been submitted for a new construction, three-flat construction with a basement. Although renderings have not been made public, we know there will be a three-vehicle masonry garage at the rear of the building.
A proposal was submitted for review on Wednesday to the Chicago City Council to designate the historic Pioneer Arcade in Humboldt Park as a protected landmark. The three-story building is located at 1535-45 N Pulaski Road and was designed by Danish-born Chicago architect Jens Jensen. Pioneer Arcade was originally a recreation center and featured 20 bowling lanes, a billiard room with 35 tables, and retail spaces. The establishment acted as a social site for the neighborhood. The building has a distinctive Spanish Baroque Revival style and an ornate terra cotta facade.
A demolition permit was issued on Wednesday to remove a three-story masonry residence located at 2016 N Clifton Avenue in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. No filings have been submitted to upgrade any of the zoning designations for this property and there is currently no information on any future constructions at the site.
New construction permits have been issued to erect a two-story residential building, located at 334 E Pershing Road in Douglas. The permit lists the owner as McBrearty Construction Company, and plans indicate three total units at the address, a basement level, rear decks, and a private rooftop deck. There will also be an attached two-vehicle garage. Christopher Boehm is serving as the architect of record. No drawings or renderings have been made public. The project site is currently a vacant lot.
