New construction permits have been issued to erect a two-story residential building, located at 334 E Pershing Road in Douglas. The permit lists the owner as McBrearty Construction Company, and plans indicate three total units at the address, a basement level, rear decks, and a private rooftop deck. There will also be an attached two-vehicle garage. Christopher Boehm is serving as the architect of record. No drawings or renderings have been made public. The project site is currently a vacant lot.
As far as rail transit, the nearest CTA L availability is a seven-minute walk southwest to the Indiana station, where commuters will find service for the Green Line. The nearest bus access lies at the corner of E Pershing Road and S Martin Luther King Drive, where Routes 39 & 3 can be boarded. The site is within walking distance of a Mariano’s grocery store and several parks including Anderson Park, Ellis Park, and Mandrake Park.
McBrearty Construction Company is also serving as the general contractor for the $907,200 development. A timeline for completion is not yet known.
