The permit’s owners have been listed as Metropole Group LLC. Per plans, the construction will be comprised of three total dwelling units with open steel decks at the rear of the building. Plans also indicate the presence of a concrete patio and a detached three-vehicle masonry garage. The property lot is currently vacant.

This past week, a demolition permit was issued to remove a two-story masonry multi-unit residence along with a detached masonry garage located at 1913 West Addison Street in the North Center neighborhood. The permit’s owners have been listed as Kingsley Holdings LLC. The property has an RT-3.5 designation.

A permit was approved on Friday for a new four-story mixed-use building to be located at 2354 West Farragut Avenue in the Lincoln Square neighborhood. The owner is listed as 5235-41 N Western LLC and plans indicate this project will feature first-floor retail space and 18 units spread across the second through fourth floors. The second through fourth floors will have outside decking and the building will have a rooftop deck. There will be 18 designated parking spaces for residents and 16 spaces for non-residents. The development will replace an existing parking lot.

Demolition Permits Issued for 831 N Maplewood Avenue in West Town

Permits were issued on the 29th for the removal of a two-story residential building located at 831 N Maplewood Avenue in West Town. The permit owner is listed as 831 N Maplewood LLC and they were also issued a permit for a new construction back in early October. The new building plans consist of three total units, a basement level, a rooftop deck, front and rear decks, and a detached three-vehicle garage with its own rooftop deck.

Permits were issued on Wednesday for the construction of a new multi-unit building which will be located at 2653 West Cortez Street in West Town. The permit lists the owner as 2651 W Cortez LLC and plans involve the construction of a three-story building with three units and a basement. The building will reportedly include side entry access stairs, a rear deck on the ground level, and a four-story open rear egress stair. Plans also indicate the presence of a rooftop deck and a detached three-car garage in the rear. A demolition permit was issued for this address and the neighboring property to the same owners in August of this year.

The permit notes that this will be owner-occupied and lists Ramon Escamilla as the owner. Plans indicate this project will be a frame construction and yield two total units. The building will include open rear decks and an egress stair. An existing masonry garage will remain on site. The project will replace an existing structure. Mark Murphy of M Architecture is listed as the architect of record. No renderings have been made public.

Permits Issued to National Public Housing Museum

The National Public Housing Museum located in the Near West Side neighborhood has been issued renovation permits. The site is located on the corner of W Taylor Street and Ada Street. The permits have been issued under the address 925 S Ada Street. As previously reported, the project is part of the larger Roosevelt Square Plan that seeks to further connect the Taylor Street corridor. The developers are Related Midwest and they continue to work in conjunction with Chicago Housing Authority and local firms HED Architects and Landon Bone Baker Architects.
