Permits have been issued for a new residential development at 605 N Ashland Avenue in West Town. The site is located on a rectangular lot that is bound by W Ohio Street to the south and a public alley to the north. The new construction will replace an existing three-story masonry structure with a rear garage. The developer is Lux Living 4U, LLC with Hanna Architects on the modern design. YIMBY reported on the development earlier this year when zoning was approved.
A demolition permit was issued on Wednesday for a two-story frame multi-unit residence along with a detached frame garage located at 1457 W Roscoe Street in the Lake View neighborhood. As of this writing, no permits have been filed for a future build.
A permit was issued this week for a new five-story mixed-use building located at 2354 W Polk Street in the Near West Side neighborhood. The owner on the permit is listed as 749 Western Funding LLC. The building address for the development is 753 S Western Avenue, and per plans will include a total of 20 dwelling units. The first floor will house retail space as well as an attached 20-vehicle garage. This will be an elevator building and will include a penthouse on the top floor.
A demolition permit was issued Wednesday to remove a mixed-use masonry building located at 6607 S Dr. Martin L King Jr Drive in the Woodlawn neighborhood. The permit’s owner has been listed as the Project H.O.O.D Construction Corp. The 501 c(3) organization has been providing mentorship, training, and community for residents of Woodlawn and Englewood since its founding in 2011 and is headquartered across the street from the building at 6620 S Dr. Martin L King Jr Drive.
