A permit was issued just on Tuesday for a new three-story residential building with a masonry facade at 6546 S Drexel Avenue in the Woodlawn neighborhood. The proposed project’s owner is listed as Park Royal Development LLC. The scope of the project details three total dwelling units with plans for rear metal porches on the second and third levels. Plans indicate the presence of a three-vehicle parking pad at the rear of the building site. The lot is currently vacant.
Charles E Schwartz is listed as the architect of record. No drawings or renderings have been publicly disclosed, however, a masonry exterior is anticipated given the masonry contractors listed in the plans.
The CTA Green Line can be accessed at the Cottage Grove station via a nine-minute walk north. The nearest bus service available is for Route 4 and it can all be found at the Cottage Grove & Marquette Road stop via a three-minute walk southwest. A number of grocery and dining options are available within a five-minute walk.
Crown Construction Company will act as the general contractor for the $350,000 construction. A full timeline and an anticipated completion date have not yet been revealed.
