The eight-story edifice is part of the developer’s larger multi-billion, 55-acre Lincoln Yards, which is poised to bring new life to the North Branch of Chicago River via a mix of commercial, residential, and recreational spaces.

Permits Issued for Development at 605 N Ashland Avenue in West Town

Permits have been issued for a new residential development at 605 N Ashland Avenue in West Town. The site is located on a rectangular lot that is bound by W Ohio Street to the south and a public alley to the north. The new construction will replace an existing three-story masonry structure with a rear garage. The developer is Lux Living 4U, LLC with Hanna Architects on the modern design. YIMBY reported on the development earlier this year when zoning was approved.

New Details Emerge for Shapack’s “NOMA” Masterplan in River West

More detailed plans for Shapack‘s West Town megadevelpmont have now been reviewed by the Committee on Design. Now called “NOMA,” the 3.25-acre assemblage in the River West area of West Town would yield 1,500 new residential units, a hotel, and a multitude of new commercial options. The assemblage revolves around the former Salvation Army Building, which Shapack will convert to a new 141-key hotel and restaurant venue designed by Eckenhoff Saunders Architects. The existing multi-tone masonry facade will be refurbished and have its windows replaced. There will also be a new masonry penthouse enclosure added atop a portion of the roof.
