Demolition Permit For Former Aya Pastry Building At 1332 West Grand Signals Start Of Nine-Unit Development

On the second day of June, the City of Chicago authorized the demolition of a single-story commercial building at 1332 West Grand Avenue in West Town. Home to Aya Pastry until its closing in August of last year, the site will be transformed into a new-construction residential building with ground-floor retail space. Builder Luxury is named in the demo permit as the contractor for the razing at a reported cost of $25,000.

The Northbrook developer that delivered The Trieuth on North Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Square has received a permit to new a residential building at 1853 West Grand Avenue in West Town. Northshore Development Group LLC got permission on May 12 to erect a four-story plus basement, four-unit building with an attached two-car garage. The permit’s application start date was on January 5, and it was issued with a reported cost of $975,000.
