A new permit was issued last week for the construction of a two-story residential construction located at 1714 North Washtenaw Avenue in the West Town neighborhood. The property is zoned as an R-5 construction allowing for two-flats and single-family homes. The permit’s owners have been listed as NSL Development this will be a two-flat construction with a basement. The building will also have a roof deck and rear decks on all levels, as well as a detached three-vehicle garage with its own rooftop deck.

Salt Shed Announces Opening For Indoor Venue In West Town

An opening date has been announced for the next phase of the Salt Shed entertainment complex at 1357 N Elston Avenue in West Town. Located on the intersection with N Magnolia Avenue along the north branch of the Chicago River, the multi-building project partially opened earlier this year with its outdoor venue holding its first concert to much fanfare. Developers R2 Companies, Blue Star Properties, and Skydeck have been working with locally-based architecture firm Lamar Johnson Collaborative on its design.
