A new construction permit has been issued for a three-story, three-unit residential building located at 1300 North Cleaver Street in West Town. The permit, which was issued on June 6, allows for the construction of a building with a basement, rooftop deck, rooftop stair enclosure, rear terrace at the first story, rear deck with stairs at the first, second, and third stories, and front balconies at the second and third stories. The permit also includes the construction of a detached three-car garage with a rooftop deck.
The total fee for the permit is $4,350, which includes a building fee of $2,850, a zoning fee of $1,500, and no other fees. The reported cost of the construction is $1,256,070.
The permit was issued under the self-certification process, which allows architects and engineers to certify that their plans comply with the Chicago Building Code. The architect for the project is John Hanna.
When complete, 1300 North Cleaver Street will be located a short walk from bus stops for Routes 9, X9, 56, and 70. It will also be a short walk from the Division CTA Station, which services the Blue Line.
