The City of Chicago has issued a permit for the interior remodeling and change of occupancy at 2200 West Grand Avenue, a four-story masonry building with 21 dwelling units in West Town. The permit, issued on April 29, was applied for on August 21, and took 252 days to process.
The work, as per the approved plans, involves converting the first-floor retail space into a daycare center. The total permit fee is $3,525, with $300 paid for the building permit, $75 for zoning, and $3,150 remaining unpaid for the building permit. The reported cost of the project is $100,000.
The property owner is listed as Grand Plus LLC. They are working alongside Andy Kacprzynski, the architect of record behind the project’s plans.
2200 West Grand Avenue is located a short walk from bus service for Routes 49, X49, and 65, along with the Western Avenue Metra Station, which services the MD North Line Train, the MD West Line Train, and the North Central Service Train.

For clarification, the picture is of the site prior to construction. It is a new construction building. This is probably more of a “tenant buildout” than a remodel.
