Located just east of the intersection with S Wallace Street, the three homes will replace a vacant lot, a one-story non-historical home and its adjacent garage. Developer Thomas M Doyle Builders LLC is working with local designer Stern Group Architects on the low-cost builds.

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for a new roastery and cafe at 3110 N Kedzie Avenue in Avondale. Located just north of the intersection with W Barry Avenue right off of the Kennedy Expressway, the shop would repurpose the existing one-story masonry structure that currently houses the Olde Chicago Antiques store. Local business Metric Coffee is behind the plan that has been in motion for a few months with local design firm En-Masse Architecture, previously known as Mike Shively Architecture, on the new outpost.

Pedestrian Street And Historical Polish Designation Approved For N Milwaukee Avenue

The Chicago City Council has approved the pedestrian designation of part of N Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square, as well as a new bill has been introduced establishing the Polish Heritage Corridor on the same road. Both measures are aimed at changing the way developments are built on the quickly changing road while also preserving its human scale and historical importance. The pedestrian designation will be similar to the same recently approved plan for Fulton Market, while the bill was recently introduced this year by Rep. Delia Ramirez.
