Community Development Commission Approves Supportive Housing Development at 3346 W Carroll Avenue in East Garfield Park

The Community Development Commission has approved a supportive housing development located at 3346 W Carroll Avenue in East Garfield Park. Currently a vacant lot, the project site is an infill site along W Carroll Avenue, just off of N Homan Avenue. The property backs up to the westbound Metra tracks. Breakthrough Urban Ministries, a local nonprofit organization, will be developing the building.

The is bounded by S Wabash Avenue to the east, a seven-story building to the south, the CTA L tracks to the west, and a four-story building and surface parking lot to the north. Currency a vacant surface parking lot, the property includes an easement from where 14th Street used to cut through it. The developer behind the proposal is CMK Companies.
