Construction work is drawing to a close, as the residential development at 5753 North Broadway in Edgewater edges closer to its June opening. Now known as Edgelux, the five-story, 42-unit development being built by Moments Notice Services is getting attention to its interior details, with the first residents expected to begin moving into their units two months from now.
A permit has been issued to allow construction of eight townhomes at the former Cenacle Retreat & Conference Center on Fullerton Avenue in Lincoln Park. Addressed as 2329 North Cambridge Avenue, the homes will be built on Lot C, the third subdivision of the plot, located on the west side of the large site. The permit was issued April 2, a little more than five months after the application was filed in October of last year. It comes with a reported construction cost of $4.115 million.
Additional renderings have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 900 Clark Street in Evanston. Located on the corner with Maple Avenue, we originally covered the proposal’s announcement late last year along with another proposed high-rise just a few blocks away at 605 Davis Street.
Construction has reached the second level on a five-story residential building at 3015 North Southport Avenue in the Lake View neighborhood. The development from Advent Properties will contain seven dwelling units, likely to be condos, with seven indoor parking spaces included on the first floor.
A pair of permits issued in March by the City of Chicago will allow the South Side Community Art Center to begin work on an addition to the Bronzeville building they’ve called home since 1940. A demolition permit issued April 1 calls for the removal of the coach house at the rear of the 1892-built structure, and a renovation permit issued March 13 authorizes foundation and site work for a three-story addition.
