Located on the southeast corner of Western and Flournoy Street on the Near West Side, all five commercial spaces in the building appear to have been unoccupied for quite some time. The teardown directive was issued with B & K Concrete 1 named as the demo contractor, at an estimated cost of $45,000.

Plans are advancing for the redevelopment of the former Washington Park National Bank at 6300 S Cottage Grove Avenue. Located on the corner with E 63rd Street in Woodlawn, plans for the redevelopment date back to 2019 and have seen various iterations throughout the time. Now the development team, DL3 Realty, has been hosting community input meetings.

Demolition work is complete, save for a front stoop and some foundations to be excavated, on a pair of residential buildings at 2832 and 2834 North Racine Avenue in the Lake View neighborhood. The two multi-unit residences were sold by a private seller this past summer, according to 2832-2834racine.com, a website set up for the two properties. Real estate records show the entity of 2834 Racine LLC as the buyer, who in turn is listed in both demolition permits as the property owner. Tir Conaill Concrete was assigned as the demo contractor.

Located on the southwest corner of Claremont and Cornelia Avenues, the new build takes the place of a two-story frame residence torn down in December. That home, which real estate records show was built in 1890, sold in August for $625,000.

The long-time owner of a single-family home here is responsible for the new development. The permit application was filed on October 28, and has an estimated construction cost of $500,000.

A second three-flat has been permitted to begin construction on an empty lot at Pershing Road and Lake Park Avenue in the Oakland Community Area. The City of Chicago issued the permit on December 31, allowing for a three-story, three-unit building at 3900 South Lake Park Avenue. On November 26, the first permit for this lot was issued for 3902 S0uth Lake Park Avenue, also a three-story, three-unit building with identical specs.
