A demolition permit was issued Wednesday, April 23 for 3633 North Sheffield Avenue in Wrigleyville, the second of three buildings beyond the right-field wall of Wrigley Field to be torn down for redevelopment. 3631 and 3627 North Sheffield are also being razed, with only rubble remaining of 3631, the middle building of the three. A permit for the third razing has yet to be issued, while 3631 North Sheffield. the “Torco Building,” got one on February 25.

Initial Details Revealed For DuSable Park In Streeterville

New details have been revealed for the long-anticipated DuSable Park, located at 401 N DuSable Lake Shore Drive in Streeterville. Situated on a small peninsula east of the highway, the park has been in development for years, alongside the rapidly rising 400 N Lake Shore Drive project next door. Efforts are being led by the Chicago Park District and is partially funded by the 400 LSD development.

A permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to begin construction of a five-story, 12-unit building at 515 West Elm Street in the Cabrini-Green neighborhood on the Near North Side. Cabrini LLC of Northwoods, IL is named as the developer. They filed an application for the permit on January 20 of this year, and it comes with a reported cost of just over $4 million.

11757 South Longwood Drive construction permitted

Two single-family residences have been permitted for construction at 11757 South Longwood Drive in the Morgan Park neighborhood. Issued to Kamau Murray of the XS Tennis and Education Foundation in Washington Park on April 22, the permit calls for a pair of two-story homes, with an application dated December 19, 2024.

Located at the southeast corner of Sheridan and W Morse Avenue, the project will replace a one-story commercial building that formerly housed Leona’s Restaurant. The proposal was shared earlier this week by 49th Ward Alderwoman Maria Hadden.

The first permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to renovate the John Paul II Catholic Center of Polish Culture at 1317 North Ashland Avenue in Wicker Park. The building is owned by the Polish Catholic Church, and Base 3 Development is doing the renovation work, according to Block Club. City council approved the alterations in March. Now home to five apartments on the upper levels with religious meeting space on the first floor, renovation work will transform the building to residential use only.

City Council Approves 450 N Morgan Street In West Town

The Chicago City Council has approved plans for the mixed-use development at 450 N Morgan Street in West Town. Located at the corner with W Hubbard Street, just south of W Grand Avenue, YIMBY first covered the project in March when the current design was revealed. This was following a pivot from a previously planned five-story office building proposed in 2016.

A new construction permit was issued by the City of Chicago to get work started on August 21, 2022, with general contractor Summit Design + Build finally able to break ground this past winter after starting site prep in the fall.

Construction can begin for a three-flat at 4841 South Prairie Avenue in Bronzeville, now that developer Jack Properties LLC has a permit to get started. Issued On April 15, about six weeks after an application was filed on March 5, the permit shows a reported construction cost of $420,000. The new homes will replace a long-vacant grass lot with the Green Line elevated tracks passing overhead behind it.
