Three demolition permits have been issued by the City of Chicago for buildings on North Elk Grove Avenue in the Wicker Park neighborhood. The sites are being cleared by developer Volo Holdings so they can construct a new three-story with basement, six-unit residential property permitted for construction in November.
Initial details have been revealed for a new mixed-use office high-rise at 590 W Madison Street in West Loop Gate. Located on the northeast corner with N Jefferson Street, the tower will replace a narrow parking lot used by the existing tower at 540 Madison next door. The project is being led by Florida-based Third Millennium Group and Texas-based Hines.
Chicago has six tower cranes operating around the city, now that general contractor Clark Construction has finished installing theirs at the Thompson Center in The Loop. As you probably know by now, the Thompson Center is undergoing a complete renovation before Google moves into the building. The crane was erected this past weekend on the south side of the building, along Randolph Street. It will remain on site for 10-12 months as it lifts the new exterior panels into place.
A new construction permit was issued January 15 by the City of Chicago to build a multi-unit residence at 2341 West Belden Avenue in the Bucktown neighborhood. The new plans, designed by Michael Cox & Associates, call for two units which may indicate this will be a duplex-up and duplex-down condo development.
Initial plans have been revealed for the residential conversion of the existing church at 2625 N Talman Avenue in Logan Square. Located just north of the intersection with W Logan Boulevard, the church was most recently the home of the Bethel International Full Gospel Korean congregation. Efforts for the redevelopment, dubbed Talman Lofts, are being led by Mo2 Properties.
