Progress is beginning to show at 4907 North Paulina Street in the Uptown neighborhood, as general contractor Moments Notice Services takes a new residential project vertical. The site of the new four-story, 32-unit development is now marked by brick and block work as the courtyard building takes shape.
The first permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to renovate the John Paul II Catholic Center of Polish Culture at 1317 North Ashland Avenue in Wicker Park. The building is owned by the Polish Catholic Church, and Base 3 Development is doing the renovation work, according to Block Club. City council approved the alterations in March. Now home to five apartments on the upper levels with religious meeting space on the first floor, renovation work will transform the building to residential use only.
The Chicago City Council has approved plans for the mixed-use development at 450 N Morgan Street in West Town. Located at the corner with W Hubbard Street, just south of W Grand Avenue, YIMBY first covered the project in March when the current design was revealed. This was following a pivot from a previously planned five-story office building proposed in 2016.
Three concrete columns are rising at 537 West Drummond Place in Lincoln Park, as construction progress goes 3-D on a residential development from Moyer Properties. A new construction permit was issued by the City of Chicago to get work started on August 21, 2022, with general contractor Summit Design + Build finally able to break ground this past winter after starting site prep in the fall.
Construction can begin for a three-flat at 4841 South Prairie Avenue in Bronzeville, now that developer Jack Properties LLC has a permit to get started. Issued On April 15, about six weeks after an application was filed on March 5, the permit shows a reported construction cost of $420,000. The new homes will replace a long-vacant grass lot with the Green Line elevated tracks passing overhead behind it.
