Exterior construction is wrapping up on a new four-story residential building under construction at 1526 N Wieland Street in Old Town. Planned by Halcyon Development and dubbed “W8 Old Town,” the project will offer eight total condominium units.
Initial construction permits have been issued for the mixed-use development at 5159 N Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Square. Located on the southeastern corner with W Foster Avenue, the new structure will replace a currently vacant lot that up until recently held multiple one-story commercial buildings which were home to local stalwart Jimmy’s Pizza Cafe. Developer Grand Properties Acquisitions LLC is working with Chicago-based Hanna Architects, who designed a very similar proposal just up the street at 5214 N Lincoln Avenue.
Initial plans have been revealed for a residential development at 2821 N Orchard Street in Lake View East. Located just north of the intersection with W Diversey Parkway, the new project will replace an existing 3-story home that dates back to 1891. The drawings from an undisclosed developer were made public via the office of 44th Ward Alderman Tom Tunney, revealing local firm Hanna Architects as the designer of the new structure.
Facade construction can be seen at the site of 2406 W Armitage Avenue, a five-story mixed-use development in Logan Square. The corner property, located at the intersection of W Armitage Avenue and N Western Avenue, was previously occupied by a vacant one-story bank building, demolished last year.
The Chicago City Council has approved a zoning application for a residential development at 2236 W Cermak Avenue in Heart Of Chicago. Located just east of the intersection with S Oakley Avenue, the project will replace a vacant lot near the industrial area of the Chicago River’s southern branch. Developer 2236 Cermak LLC has partnered up with local design firm Hanna Architects who have worked on various other smaller residential buildings across the city.
