The previous structure was torn down last fall, with the site marketed as a redevelopment opportunity. After demolition, the double lot sold in January for $4.2 million to Swan Property Development of Orland Park, who will now erect a four-story with basement building here.

Construction has begun on the residential development at 2234 West Grand Avenue in West Town. A demolition permit was issued for the Rainbow Art, Inc building previously on the site in late February. It was torn down very quickly, allowing developer and general contractor Panoptic Group to get started on foundation work. Construction approval was received on March 7, at a reported build cost of $6.5 million.
