Construction is underway at 2354 North Washtenaw Avenue in Logan Square

Construction is underway on a new residential development on the southwest corner of Washtenaw Avenue and Fullerton Avenue in the Logan Square neighborhood. 2354 North Washtenaw Avenue will be a five-story, 20 unit building from developer and general contractor Wilmot Construction. They got a permit to replace a surface parking lot on July 2 of this year, which also lists Hanna Architects as building designers.

Pair of demolition permits issued to make way for 2129 North Damen Avenue in Bucktown

In August, we told you about a permit issued for new construction at 2129 North Damen Avenue in Bucktown, and now two demolition permits have been issued to get that development started. The City of Chicago signed off on the wrecking ball for 2127 and 2129 North Damen on Friday, September 6. Both buildings have been boarded up and empty for some time now, and this makes their demises official.

While two Lincoln Square buildings await demolition, a new construction permit has been issued by the City of Chicago for a residential development at 4529 North Western Avenue. The permit came through on August 20, and it allows the entity of Western Front LLC in Buffalo Grove to build an eight-unit development spanning two lots, 4529 and 4531, mid-block on Western Ave.

New construction permit issued 2702 North Greenview Avenue

Permit issued to build three-story residential building on side yard in Lincoln Park

The City of Chicago has issued a new construction permit for the property at 2702 North Greenview Avenue in Lincoln Park. The space currently is a greenery-filled side yard, likely belonging to the home next door at 2700 North Greenview before the empty lot was sold, with a concrete slab for parking still at the rear of the property. There are no permits for this address in the Chicago Data Portal dating back to 2006, so it looks like this lot has been empty for a good while. There is also no indication to date that the home at 2700 will be demolished as part of this development.
