Permit Issued for 1700 S Wabash Avenue in South Loop

A construction permit has been issued for a new South Loop development at 1700 South Wabash Avenue. Developed by CMK Companies, the new nine-story residential building, with a height of 115 feet, is set to house 37 residential units. These units will include 11 studios, 10 one-bedrooms, 14 two-bedrooms, and two three-bedrooms on the top floor with private terraces. In compliance with city regulations, 20 percent of these units will be designated as affordable.

Updated Details Revealed For Mixed-Use Development In Old Irving Park

Plans have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 3955 N Kilpatrick Avenue in Old Irving Park. Located on the southeast corner with W Irving Park Road, the project will replace a massive vacant lot currently used as a parking lot near the Metra tracks. Developer GW Properties is working with local firm Pappageorge Haymes on the multi-building project which is an update from an earlier plan.

Last week, the Hispanic Housing Development Corporation (HHDC) dedicated its 64-unit affordable housing building in Humboldt Park to Puerto Rican activist Pedro Albizu Campos. Notable city leaders, including Mayor Brandon Johnson and Alderperson Jessie Fuentes, were in attendance. The mixed-use building, which has reached full height, stands at 1203 N California Avenue across from the Humboldt Park grounds.

Updated details have been reviewed by the Committee on Design for the mixed-use development at 2033 N Kingsbury Avenue in Lincoln Park. Originally proposed late last year and revised earlier this summer, the new structure will replace a vacant lot adjacent to the future home of Lincoln Yards. Similar to the megadevelopment and another nearby proposal at 1840 N Marcey Street, Sterling Bay is behind this project which is being designed by local firm Pappageorge Haymes.
