The newest proposal comes after multiple years of negotiations between the developer Related Midwest and city officials.

Located along N Emmett Street, the site sits at the corner of N Emmett Street and N Kedzie Avenue, stretching most of the block along N Emmett Street between N Kedzie Avenue and N Sawyer Avenue. The nearest public transportation is the Logan Square CTA L station, serviced by the Blue Line, located directly across the street. The 56 and 76 CTA bus lines are also accessible at the Logan Square stop. Construction Commences at bKL Architecture’s 300 N Michigan in The Loop

Construction has begun on the foundations for 300 N Michigan, which will rise 523 feet across 47 stories. Addressed as 300 N Michigan Avenue in The Loop, the development will stand at the intersection of N Michigan Avenue and E Wacker Place. Permit filings show that the foundation permits were issued in August, approving the construction of the caissons, foundation structure, and full floor structure up to level four. Full building permits have yet to be filed for the tower portion of the project. 300 N Michigan LLC is the owner behind the applications, an LLC for Magellan Development Group and Sterling Bay, the developers collaborating on this project.

Today, YIMBY has new photos showcasing construction progress at Cunningham Hall, a nine-story residential building originally designed in 1955 by famous German architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Located at 3100 S Michigan Avenue on the northeastern edge of the main campus in Bronzeville, the structure was built by Mies van der Rohe as part of his campus plan and used as on-campus apartments. The nearest CTA L station is the 35th-Bronzeville-IIT stop, serviced by the Green Line, a five-minute walk away.
