Permits have been filed for two adjacent two-story residential buildings at 611 and 613 N Central Avenue in Austin. The interior lots are located along N Central Avenue between W Ohio Street and W Huron Street. The nearest public transportation is the 85 CTA bus accessed at the Central and Ohio stop at the end of the block. The Central CTA L station serviced by the Green Line is the nearest stop, a six-minute walk away. The site is also within a five-minute walk of W Chicago Avenue, a busy commercial and retail corridor. Adam Zegarski is listed as the owner behind the applications, reporting the development cost as $500,000 per building.
The buildings will contain three units each. There will be an open-air, steel rear porch on each structure as well as fencing along the perimeter of each site. There will be three parking spaces per building accessed by the alley. The height and square footage of the project is currently unknown.
Adam Zegarski’s company, A-Z Plus Remodeling Inc. is listed as the general contractor. No architect of record is listed in the permit filings.
The site is currently empty, so demolition permits will most likely not be necessary. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
