Construction is imminent at 2614 N Emmett Street in Logan Square, the site of the new Emmett Street Apartments. The prospective seven-story mixed-use building will have affordable housing. Located along N Emmett Street, the site sits at the corner of N Emmett Street and N Kedzie Avenue, stretching most of the block along N Emmett Street between N Kedzie Avenue and N Sawyer Avenue. The nearest public transportation is the Logan Square CTA L station, serviced by the Blue Line, located directly across the street. The 56 and 76 CTA bus lines are also accessible at the Logan Square stop. Emmett Apartments, LP is listed as the owner of the applications, with Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation as the developer for the project.
Emmett Street Apartments will be a transit-oriented development with 100 units of affordable housing. The building will have office space for onsite property management and maintenance. Tenants will have access to a community room, onsite laundry facilities, and an interior bike room paired with exterior bike racks. There will also be an approximately 4,500-square-foot commercial space with frontage along W Kedzie Avenue.
The existing project site is an underutilized City of Chicago-owned parking lot that faces the southwest side of Emmett Street, west of Kedzie Avenue, and northwest of the Logan Square CTA Blue Line station. The development will take up the majority of the block, with varying heights spanning from two to seven stories. The structure will also be set back from the street, further allowing the new construction to fit in with its surroundings.
Landon Bone Baker Architects is in charge of the design for 2614 N Emmett Street. Linn-Mathes Inc is the general contractor for the project.
Construction is expected to break ground soon, with completion estimated by 2021.

Hi Wada, it appears that the application window has passed for this development, though this could be subject to change. There is a Block Club article from last year that discusses the applications themselves more in-depth: https://blockclubchicago.org/2021/07/22/logan-square-affordable-housing-700-apply-50-apartments-emmett-street-complex/
