After years of delay, construction is expected to begin this year on the Damen CTA Green Line station in the Near West Side. Planned for the intersection of N Damen Avenue and W Lake Street, the new station will add a new stop to the CTA Green Line, replacing a historic station closed in 1948.
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved an esports stadium located at 2500 S Wabash Avenue in the Near South Side. Located along S Wabash Avenue, the project will utilize two different sites. The main property, located at 2500 S Wabash Avenue, is bound by E 25th Street to the north, S Wabash Avenue to the east, a four-story residential building to the south, and a public alley and CTA L tracks to the west. The lot currency holds a two-story brick building and surface parking lot for trailers. The secondary lot, located at 2617 S Wabash Avenue, is occupied by an existing surface parking lot and one-story masonry building located at the intersection of S Wabash Avenue and E 26th Street.
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a mixed-use development for Westhaven Park Phase IID in the Near West Side. Located at 1959 W Lake Street, the project site fronts N Damen Avenue spanning from W Lake Street to W Maypole Avenue. The property is located adjacent to the CTA Green Line tracks where a new Damen station is expected. Brinshore Development and The Michaels Organization are the developers behind the proposal.

Located at the intersection of W Randolph Start and N Willard Court, the project site is a corner lot. Currently, a two-story masonry building is located on the property. Thor Equities is the developer behind the proposal.
The Department of Planning and Development for the City of Chicago will launch the Committee on Design as a part of the planning and review process for developments in Chicago. This new committee is aimed to establish a platform for standardized, elevated design while expediting the Department of Planning and Development review process.
