Developer Sterling Bay has announced the sale of their property at 345 N Aberdeen Street in the West Loop. Bound by W Carroll Avenue to the south and rail tracks to the north, the site currently holds the Cougle Commission Company factory. The developer has brought on real estate company JLL to sell the property for them.
An interior remodeling project is underway at 1459 West Victoria Street in Andersonville, aiming to revitalize the existing three-story, three-unit residence at the address. Permits were issued on January 8, and the project’s budget is $50,000.
Foundation work has begun for a 12-story building at 1630 South Wabash Avenue in South Loop, with pilings now being installed. This mixed-use development by CMK Companies, replacing a vacant lot directly east of the CTA tracks, will feature 149 rental units above ground-floor retail. A permit for the foundation and partial superstructure was issued in late October, followed by the issuance of the full permit in early December.
Initial neighborhood meetings have been held for the community spaces below the upcoming Red and Purple Line Modernization (RPM) across the north side. The project will run below and adjacent to the new track from W Lawrence Avenue in the south to W Ardmore Avenue in the north. Efforts are being led by the Chicago Transit Authority who brought on local firm Site Design Group to execute the work.
A renovation project is in progress at 4311 West Maypole Avenue in West Garfield Park, with permits issued by the City of Chicago on January 8. The project will involve comprehensive interior updates to an existing two-story masonry brick building that houses two dwelling units. The project’s budget is $79,400.
