A permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to begin construction of a five-story, 12-unit building at 515 West Elm Street in the Cabrini-Green neighborhood on the Near North Side. Cabrini LLC of Northwoods, IL is named as the developer. They filed an application for the permit on January 20 of this year, and it comes with a reported cost of just over $4 million.
Two single-family residences have been permitted for construction at 11757 South Longwood Drive in the Morgan Park neighborhood. Issued to Kamau Murray of the XS Tennis and Education Foundation in Washington Park on April 22, the permit calls for a pair of two-story homes, with an application dated December 19, 2024.
Initial details have been released for a new residential development at 6935 N Sheridan Road in Rogers Park. Located at the southeast corner of Sheridan and W Morse Avenue, the project will replace a one-story commercial building that formerly housed Leona’s Restaurant. The proposal was shared earlier this week by 49th Ward Alderwoman Maria Hadden.
Progress is beginning to show at 4907 North Paulina Street in the Uptown neighborhood, as general contractor Moments Notice Services takes a new residential project vertical. The site of the new four-story, 32-unit development is now marked by brick and block work as the courtyard building takes shape.
The first permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to renovate the John Paul II Catholic Center of Polish Culture at 1317 North Ashland Avenue in Wicker Park. The building is owned by the Polish Catholic Church, and Base 3 Development is doing the renovation work, according to Block Club. City council approved the alterations in March. Now home to five apartments on the upper levels with religious meeting space on the first floor, renovation work will transform the building to residential use only.
